Every person has a unique face and a unique personality. Good portrait photography is dependent on many factors; apart from the lens, the lighting, the background, there is the art of communication and direction.
Portrait photography isn’t just about pointing a camera at a face. There are subtle methods required which make a good portrait photographer into a great one. I call this instinct. Instinct isn’t something God necessarily gave us. It can be learned and in the art of good portrait photography this is developed over time. This is not a queue up and shoot workshop.
This is a proactive and creative evening. With many years of professional experience behind me, I can show how to photograph the others on the workshop.
This workshop will be for 4 people only so that you will see how I would approach your own portrait and you will also be encouraged to try out lighting techniques under my guidance to photograph the others at the workshop too.
Being photographed is also perfect experience for photographing others so you can understand the subtleties involved in getting the best shots of a person who you either know or is new to you.
