Travelling definitely opens your eyes, inspires, challenges beliefs and can be physically demanding. It helps create experiences which are utterly new and incredible and sometimes shocking.
I travelled to Australia, Thailand, India and Nepal before deciding to become a photographer. Having my camera stolen didn’t put me off. It inspired me to take more pictures and make photography my career.
The experiences from travelling are, in my opinion, more important than the photography. To return with a bunch of pictures to be proud of is fantastic. Although I have to say much of my travel for work was almost always a brilliant experience!
You don’t have to travel far to take a nice landscape. A few of the pictures below are taken in the town I grew up in on the south coast of England.
Now living in the North, there are so many places that I’d love to photograph that will keep inspiring me to carry a camera wherever I go.
